Complex of Hue Monuments
Located along the banks of the Perfume River and some adjacent areas of Thua Thien – Hue Province, the Complex of Hue Monuments was the first Vietnamese heritage recognized by UNESCO in December 1993.
The highlights of the Hue Imperial Citadel are the three citadels: Imperial City, the Citadel and the Forbidden City are arranged in well-matched layout throughout the north-south axis. The system of palaces and citadels here is a harmonious combination between the Eastern and Western architectural essence. In addition, it is surrounded by the beautiful natural landscape with Ngu Binh Mountain, Huong Giang river, Gia Vien islet and Boc Thanh islet. Located far from the Citadel to the west, the tombs of the Nguyen Kings, which lies on the banks of the Perfume River, carry a distinctive manner. Today, the ancient capital of Hue still preserves tangible and intangible cultural heritages containing the values that symbolize the mind and soul of the Vietnamese people.
Hoi An Ancient Town
Hoi An is an ancient Vietnamese town that is located at the confluence of the lower section of Thu Bon River in the coastal plains of Quang Nam Province. As a type of traditional Southeast Asian trading port in Vietnam, over a thousand architectural monuments in Hoi An nearly retains intact, for example, streets, houses, meeting halls, communal houses, pagodas, ancient temples, clan ancestral house, ancient wells and ancient tombs. Through these architectural constructions, we can realize both the traditional artistic nuances of Vietnam and the cultural integration between Oriental and Occidental countries. Over many centuries, quite a lot of traditional dishes, customs, rituals, cultural activities and beliefs have been preserved throughout various generations. Hoi An also has the fresh and peaceful environment with lovely and charming villages where traditional handicrafts such as carpentry, bronze and pottery have been developing.
Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex
Trang An is the first world mixed heritage site of Vietnam recognized by the UNESCO. Trang An has an area of 6,162 hectares and is located in the boundary between Hoa Lu district and Gia Vien, Nho Quan districts, Tam Diep town and Ninh Binh city. Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex includes adjacent areas of Hoa Lu ancient city, Trang An cave complex, Tam Coc-Bich Dong and Hoa Lu primary forest. Coming to Trang An, you will not be surprised at the stunning painting of natural landscape together with limestone mountains and diverse natural caves. Compared with “Halong on land,” Trang An is fascinated by the aquatic cave system connecting the flooded valleys to each other, which looks like a mysterious and bizarre Bagua arrangement. In addition, Trang An has many other attractive cultural sites such as Hoa Lu ancient capital and Bai Dinh pagoda.
